Prices in your own currency, and a new look
- NewThe price of Pro is now shown in your own currency. In pounds in the UK, in euros across the eurozone, and so on wherever we sell in the local currency, and with tax included wherever prices normally include it. It is the same figure the checkout will charge you. When there is an offer on, the offer price is shown in your currency too. How the app knows which price to show is explained in our privacy policy.
- NewThe header now carries the 20-20-20 Vision logo. It used to show the eye beside the name and a line of smaller text underneath. The artwork itself takes their place, in the setup wizard as well, and there is a version of it drawn for the light theme so the name stays readable whichever theme you use.
- NewThe app icon, the tray icons and the coloured eyes have been redrawn. The same set in the same places, including the tray icon in each of its states and the eye that follows your chosen theme.

A trial that only ends when it really has
- NewYou can now hush for 12 hours. It sits between the one hour and the full day options, for an afternoon and evening off without silencing tomorrow as well.
- NewWhen there is an offer on, the app will tell you. It appears in Settings, under 20-20-20 Vision Pro, with the price it works out at and the code ready to copy. It never interrupts a break, never appears over your timer, and it disappears on its own when the offer ends. If you have already bought the app, you will never see one.
- FixThe app could tell you your Pro trial had ended after you had bought it. If your licence could not be checked - a few days offline, or a problem at our end - the app read that as your trial running out and said so, and carried on saying it even once your licence was working again. It now knows the difference between a licence it cannot reach and no licence at all. Buying also clears that message if it was already waiting for you.
- FixThe break popup could freeze in the corner and stay there. Changing a popup setting during a break - switching the popup off, pinning the window, or the "don't show popup when pinned" option - left a stopped countdown on screen with nothing able to close it. Bringing a pinned window up from the tray mid-break did the same. The popup now follows those settings straight away, in both directions.

A way to tell us when something's wrong
- NewThe app now asks, once in a while, how you're getting on with it. It waits until you have been using it for a while, arrives after a break rather than interrupting you, and will only ever ask twice. If things are going well it offers to point you at the Store, where a review genuinely helps other people find it.
- NewIf things are not going well, you get a box instead of a link. Say what you would change and it comes straight to the development team. Nothing you write is ever published or shown to anyone else, and there is no form on this website to fill in - the only way to send it is from inside the app.
- NewLeaving an email address is optional, and it is only ever used to reply to you about what you wrote. It is never sold or shared, and it is deleted once your issue is sorted, or within 30 days. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

A clear end to your Pro trial, and matching controls
- NewYour Pro trial now ends with a word, not in silence. When the trial runs out, the next time you finish a break you will get a card saying so - which features have switched off, and that your reminders, schedule, hush and stats carry on exactly as before. It waits for a break rather than interrupting you, and it stays until you answer it, so it cannot be missed.
- NewIf you take your breaks from the corner popup with the main window tucked away, that card appears there too, so you will see it wherever you are.
- FixPro could switch off without the app admitting it. If you left the window open when your trial ran out, smart pausing and shortcuts stopped working while the app still said you had a day left. It now notices the moment the trial ends and updates itself.
- FixReminders could stop for good after an occasional Pro suggestion. If that message arrived while you were away from your desk and nobody dismissed it, the countdown never restarted and no further breaks were prompted until the app was restarted. Messages like it now wait their turn without ever holding up your reminders.
- FixHush was missing from the break popup unless you had Pro. Hush has always been free, so it is now there for everyone.
- FixSnooze, Hush and Skip now sit in the same order everywhere. The corner popup listed them differently from the main window, so the button in the same place did a different thing depending on which one you were looking at.
- FixThe break popup title was too long for the window in several languages and came out cut off. The popup has been rearranged so every language fits, centred and in full.
- FixThe On and Off button in the main window stayed in English whatever language you chose. It is now translated along with everything beside it.

Pause while an app plays sound or video
- NewA new Media trigger for your chosen apps. Alongside Focused and Camera, each app you pick now has a Media toggle that holds reminders while that app is playing sound or video - a YouTube tab, a film in a window, a game with the sound up. Pick more than one trigger and choose whether all or any of them must match. Pro
- NewPause during voice calls. A new switch holds reminders while your microphone is in use, catching the calls where your camera stays off. It's off by default, since voice chat can hold the mic for hours. Pro
- NewThe app picker now shows what each app is up to. While you're choosing apps, anything currently on camera, holding the mic, or playing sound is labelled live, so you can see exactly what the pause triggers will react to. Pro
- NewSmart pausing has a new engine. Detection now runs as a small compiled component that ships inside the app instead of a Windows PowerShell script, so it starts faster, sits lighter in the background, and keeps working on locked-down work machines where scripts are blocked. Pro
- NewThe Help button now opens the new online guide - a tour of the main window and what everything does.
- NewThe setup wizard now greets you with a gentler animated welcome.
- FixWhen a chosen app is holding your reminders, clicking the paused status now takes you straight to that app's rule and highlights it, instead of the general Choose apps button. Pro
- FixInstalling an update could leave Windows quietly removing the app again at your next restart. Upgrades now replace the old version cleanly.

You'll now know when an update's ready
- New20-20-20 Vision now lets you know when a newer version is out - an Update button in the main window's toolbar, an entry in the tray menu, and a one-time notification, all linking straight to the Store listing.
- NewA What's new option in the tray menu jumps straight to this page.
- FixThe setup wizard no longer reopens after every update - only when a release actually adds something new to it.

A calmer first run, and a clearer paused status
- FixYour first countdown no longer runs while you're still setting up. The timer ticked away behind the setup wizard, so a break could arrive before you'd even finished choosing your pace. The countdown now waits until you're done and starts fresh.
- FixThe one-click ignore button no longer appears while reminders are hushed. If a fullscreen app happened to be running in the background, the button turned up next to the Hushed status and offered to ignore an app that wasn't the reason things had gone quiet. It now only shows when a named fullscreen app is genuinely what's holding your breaks. Pro

Earn another taste of Pro, and pausing keeps your progress
- NewFree Pro trials you can earn. Once your first trial has ended, another 7 days of Pro unlocks every 1000 rests, so the features come back around if you're still using the app. The occasional Pro prompt now has a direct Upgrade now button too.
- FixTry Pro free now actually starts your trial. It used to just open the purchase page, which meant it offered something free and then asked for money.
- FixThe away warning now arrives while you can still act on it. With Pause only for long breaks, nothing appeared until the idle limit was already reached, so the countdown could quietly reset while you were sat reading. You now see Idle, counts as a rest in 1:20 from about 45 seconds in, and a nudge of the mouse keeps the countdown you've built up. Pro
- NewSettings now open as a tidy list of section headings on a fresh install, instead of every section at once. Whatever you open or close is remembered from then on.
- FixThe app now calls itself 20-20-20 Vision throughout, in the tray, the menus and the settings headings, rather than mixing in the old Eye Rest name.
- FixThe corner popup now appears during a break when the window is pinned on top but tucked away in the tray. Hide popup when on top was hiding it in that case too, so anyone who pinned the window and started in the tray got no popup at all. It now only steps aside while the pinned window is genuinely on screen and already showing your countdown.
- FixA short auto-pause no longer throws away your countdown. Dipping into fullscreen for a moment, or a brief camera blip, now picks up where it left off, so you keep the progress you'd built up. Only a pause longer than 2 minutes counts as a real activity and starts a fresh countdown. Previously every pause reset the timer, which meant frequent short pauses could hold a reminder off indefinitely. Pro
- FixPreviewing a break and then skipping it no longer marks that interval as skipped on your rest rhythm strip. A preview is just a look at what a break will do, so it no longer counts against you.
- FixUninstalling now closes 20-20-20 Vision first and removes every file it installed. If the app was still running in the tray, parts of the install folder could be left behind and Windows would ask you to restart to finish tidying up.
- FixThe ignore button on the paused status no longer adds an app to your fullscreen ignore list in one click, which was easy to hit by accident and left you wondering why reminders had stopped pausing. It now takes you straight to the list and highlights it, so you can see exactly what you're about to ignore before you commit. Pro
- FixYour settings file no longer carries your rest history. Importing your setup onto a second machine used to wipe that machine's stats and streak and replace them. It now brings your settings across and leaves each machine's history alone. Pro
- FixThe last 7 days chart no longer draws a goal line. It was fixed at 8 rests, wasn't something you could set, and sat below a typical day, so it cluttered the chart without telling you anything. Your counts, streak and history are untouched.

A cleaner uninstall, and a safer way to ignore fullscreen apps
- FixUninstalling now closes 20-20-20 Vision first and removes every file it installed. If the app was still running in the tray, parts of the install folder could be left behind and Windows would ask you to restart to finish tidying up.
- FixThe ignore button on the paused status no longer adds an app to your fullscreen ignore list in one click, which was easy to hit by accident and left you wondering why reminders had stopped pausing. It now takes you straight to the list and highlights it, so you can see exactly what you're about to ignore before you commit. Pro

Stats now use your local date, and Hush is free
- FixRest stats and the weekly chart could show yesterday's count as today's shortly after midnight, because they were keyed by UTC date instead of your local date.
- NewHush reminders is now a free feature - it no longer requires Eye Rest Pro.
- FixThe rest rhythm strip could mark a break as "at the screen, no rest" while you were actually away - periods where you'd stepped away, locked, or slept now read correctly as away.
- FixThe "reminders off" bell icon in the tray and status could render with a broken outline - it's now a clean bell with a single strike.
- FixInstalling an update while 20-20-20 Vision was running could hang at "close applications" - the app now shuts down cleanly when the installer asks.

- FixAuto-pause during fullscreen apps and pausing during video calls could run without Eye Rest Pro.

Smoother pausing, and getting ready for the Microsoft Store
- NewPro pricing is now pulled live, so price changes show up without waiting for an app update.
- Fix"Away from your desk" pausing and lock/sleep pausing could fall out of sync after your PC woke up - they now always agree. Pro
- FixClearer wording when an away-from-desk pause is about to reset your break timer. Pro
- FixThe corner popup's Skip button now updates your rest rhythm dots - it previously only worked from the main window.
- FixFixed the corner popup's shadow getting clipped into a visible box near screen edges.
- FixThe first-run setup wizard now reliably reappears after a fresh install, on every install method.
0.1.9813 July 2026
Quiet hours now work on their own
- FixQuiet hours no longer require an active-hours schedule to be turned on - they now pause reminders as their own daily window.
- NewThe "paused - not active today" status now points straight at the specific day that's causing it, instead of the general schedule fields.
- FixPause explanations now consistently link to the exact setting responsible, in the right order (quiet hours → inactive day → outside hours).
0.1.9712 July 2026
Rest rhythm strip, and a tidier settings panel
- NewRest rhythm strip - see how each break actually went at a glance: rested, skipped, missed while at your desk, or paused, instead of a single running count.
- NewSettings are now grouped into collapsible sections - When to remind, Look & sound, and Data - so the panel is easier to scan.
- FixThe settings window now resizes to fit what's actually expanded, instead of leaving empty space below collapsed sections.

Fullscreen exceptions and popup fixes
- NewFullscreen ignore list - opt individual apps out of fullscreen auto-pause, for anything that falsely reports itself as fullscreen. Pro
- FixPreviewing a break no longer resets your countdown - accepting, skipping, or skipping the rest all restore your original timer.
- Fix"Hide popup when on top" now only suppresses the corner popup while the window is actually visible, so breaks starting from the tray still show up.
